Hair Raising

Jane and Julie were friends.  Jane lived in Hollywood, California, and Julie lived in Miami, Florida.  They were both quite well off and took great pride in the fact that they were both able to afford the absolute best.  Not only did this include where they would shop for clothes, eat, and get their nails done but it also included where they would go to get their hair done: to Pierre in St. Louis.

One day, while they were talking to each other on the phone, both women realized that they had a big event to attend that evening.  Wouldn't it be fun if they both went to St. Louis that afternoon and got their hair done together?  They conference called Pierre, but he told them that he only had one appointment left; whoever could get there first could have it.

The race was on.  Jane hopped into her private jet, and Julie hopped into her own helicopter.  Both women were on their way, but unfortunately for Jane, her jet had some trouble and had to make an emergency landing in Denver.  Julie, however, made it to St. Louis with no trouble at all and was able to get to Pierre's just in time for the last appointment.

The moral of the story: the whirlybird gets the perm.
